Thorpe Park Leeds
Thorpe Park Leeds is a large out-of-town, mixed-use development in Yorkshire.
Located at Junction 46 of the M1 adjacent to the new East Leeds Orbital Route, it comprises 900,000 sq ft of offices, a 4* hotel and spa and 330,000 sq ft retail and leisure park, The Springs.
The next phase of development is currently underway following a £162 million investment deal with Legal & General Capital in 2015.[1] and is expected to be complete by 2035.
The new Thorpe Park railway station and associated Park and Ride is also due to open in 2024.
History
The site of Thorpe Park Leeds retains important historical heritage with evidence for post-medieval coal mining[2] and also through the Barnbow Munitions Factory explosion during the First World War which is commemorated on site[3]
