Tibor Várkonyi
Tibor Várkonyi (September 7, 1971, Budapest) lawyer, genealogist.
Origins[edit]
His grandfather Lajos Várkonyi (Waldmann) was the head of the KFKI nuclear reactor. His father Dr. Sándor Várkonyi is a cardiologist-internist, his mother Rozália Bátai is an economist.
Studies[edit]
He graduated from the Toldy Ferenc Secondary Grammar School in 1990. He attended the State and Law Faculty of Attila József University of Szeged between 1991-1996, and graduated with the summa cum laude honor.
Legal activity[edit]
He was a legal clerk at Dr. Katalin Kárpáti’s Law Firm and then at the Dr. Hidasi and Partners Law Firm between 1996 and 1997. He worked as a legal trainee at TV3 Television. He founded his own office in December 1999. He is a member of the Hungarian Bar Association and the Budapest Bar Association.
Genealogical Activity[edit]
He has been working with genealogy since 1992. He has been conducting various researches since 1996. His most important research is related to the Degenfeld-Schonburg family. His research made technical literature change the description of Miklós Barabás's painting, and some questions about this topic have been evoked under the title "Influence of geneological research II" at the X. International Judicial Medical Conference held in Budapest in 2006.
Between 2013 and 2017 he worked as the secretary general of the Hungarian Family History Research Association. He is a member of the Hungarian Heraldic and Genealogy Society, the Hungarian Historical Society, the Association of Hungarian Archivist[1], the Transylvanian Genealogy Association[2], the Tiszántúli Történészek Társasága[3], the Castrum Bene Association[4], the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG) and of the Hungarian Geneticist Society[5].

- Presidential member of the Hungarian-based Knighthood of the Knights of the Golden Spurn.
- Member of the Portuguese-based Royal Confraternity of Saint Teotonio.
- The vice-president of the Hungarian Tinnitus Association between 2010 and 2015[6].

He has been married since 2001, his wife is Nikolett Dóra Könings. Their children: Fanni (2001), Ádám Dániel (2003)
