Tim Mak is a reporter for NPR, focusing on investigations and national security.[4] He regularly appears on NPR shows such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered.[4]
Mak entered journalism in 2009[1] and formerly worked for writer David Frum[1], The Washington Examiner[5][6] and The Daily Beast[7]
Mak is known for breaking the story on accused Russian covert agent Maria Butina[3] and his published interview with President Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen, in which Cohen made threats against him.[8][9]
He’s a regular commentator on national security and political issues on cable news.[10][11][12][13]
In 2019, he signed a deal with the publishing house E. P. Dutton to write a book about the National Rifle Association.[14][15]
Outside of journalism, Mak is a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician.[1] He graduated from McGill University where he was valedictorian.[16]
