Time Machine is the first full studio album of covers by American a cappella band VoicePlay. The album was self-released in 2004 under their earlier band name 4:2:Five. Geoff Castellucci, Layne Stein, Earl Elkins Jr. and James May are pictured on the album cover leaning on a machine, which has the stylized image of a clock behind it. The album was released originally with "4:2:Five" shown as the band name, and later re-released after the band had changed names with "VoicePlay" shown as the band name in the same font as the original. The inside cover states they "set out to create an album of their favorite classic Motown and Doo-Wop songs", and also mentioned "No whales or mermen were harmed in the creation of Time Machine.
