Tine Molendijk (1987) is a Dutch cultural anthropologist. Dr. Molendijk is an interdisciplinary-minded social scientist specialized in the topics of violence, military culture and mental health, in particular post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and moral injury.[1]

Career[edit]

Molendijk works as assistant professor Social and behavioral sciences at the Faculty of Military Sciences at the Netherlands Defense Academy (NLDA). She teaches about ethics and the psychosocial dynamics of (military) violence, and conducts ethnographic, interdisciplinary research on moral injury and the daily experience of soldiers. In her research she usually adopts an interdisciplinary view, drawing together insights from the fields of moral philosophy, psychology, cultural anthropology, sociology and political science.

  • 2021. Grote Van Helsdingenprijs, for the best book on the borderline of psychiatry and philosophy in 2019 & 2020, awarded by Stichting Psychiatrie en Filosofie.
