Tipu Khan Bahadur
Nawab Tipu Khan Bahadur Sahab was a High Ranking and decorated Official, Elite Mansabdar and taught horse riding to His Highness Nawab Mir Mehboob Ali Khan Bahadur, Asaf Jah VI, He was the Greatest Horseman in India of the time and wrote books on Horses, which are important source of knowledge for all Horse lovers. Nawab Tipu Khan Bahadur was very close to His Highness and accompanied him in Hunting and shikars expeditions, and also accompanied His Highness to the Great Delhi Durbar in 1903. In 1886 A.D he was bestowed with the Titles of 'KHANI' and 'BAHADURI' for bravery and courage. In 1898 A.D he was presented with The Golden Crop by His Highness for loyalty, courage his exceptional skills and Horsemanship. His Highness called for his advise and suggestions in matters of State and was regarded in high esteem.
Tipu Khan Bahadur like his ancestors was a skilled Horseman in the country and was the only one Master in the art of Horse Riding and highly regarded personality of reputation among the Nobles in the Kingdom of Hyderabad Deccan. He was highly respected, recognised for his honesty, bravery and favourite of Nawab Muqtar-ul-Mulk Salar Jung I. Due to this close acquaintance he had the Royal permission and rare privilege of unhindered access into Royal Palace ‘The Purani Haveli’. The Asaf Jah V Nawab Afzal-ud-Dowlah Bahadur favoured him and was present to be near to His Highness. Nawab Tipu Khan was given instructions to train in Horsemanship to the Crown Prince Mir Mahboob Ali Khan Bahadur, Asaf Jah VI from childhood. Apart from training, he used to be the Guardian to the Young Ruler and because of this he was promoted to a high position. He was awarded with Titles by the Royal Authorities and this resulted in recognition among many Princes and Nobles of the time. In the beginning he was awarded the Jagir of Gudur and appointed in charge of Tehsil-e-Baghaat among many other responsible positions.
His Great Grand son Wajahat Ahmed Khan lives in Hyderabad and also an Horse rider and passionate of horses and participates in Equestrian Sports. He is Life Member of Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) and Telangana State Equestrian Association (TSEA).
