Titus Swen (born March 1, 2000) is an American football running back who played college football for the Wyoming Cowboys. He was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and later played in the UFL for the Memphis Showboats.[1][2]
Early life
Swen is from Fort Worth, Texas.[3] Swen began playing organised football at a young age and emerged as a versatile offensive player during his time in Texas high school football. Despite strong production at the high school level, he was lightly recruited by major college programs and entered the recruiting process as an unranked prospect.[4][5]
High school career
Swen attended V.R. Eaton High School in the Fort Worth area. Over his three-year varsity career, he rushed for 3,467 yards and 44 touchdowns, and added 70 receptions for 1,086 yards and nine receiving touchdowns, finishing with 4,748 all-purpose yards, according to Wyoming’s athletic biography.[3] In addition to his rushing production, Swen was utilised as a receiver and return specialist, contributing significant all-purpose yardage throughout his high school career. His versatility as both a runner and pass catcher helped attract interest from Group of Five programs, including Wyoming.[3]
College career
Swen played for the University of Wyoming from 2019 to 2022.[1]
As a true freshman in 2019, he appeared in eight games, including one start, and recorded 349 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. He posted a career-high 136 rushing yards against UNLV.[3] He did not play during the 2020 season.[3]
In 2021, Swen led Wyoming with seven rushing touchdowns and totaled 785 rushing yards on 132 carries, including two 100-yard rushing games. He also recorded a 98-yard rushing touchdown against Utah State, the longest run in Wyoming program history.[3]
During the 2022 season, Swen appeared primarily in a depth role within Wyoming’s running back rotation, contributing on limited offensive snaps while continuing to develop as a special teams option. He finished his collegiate career with 1,134 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns across multiple seasons with the Cowboys.[6][1]
Professional career
Indianapolis Colts
Swen signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft in May 2023 and was released later that offseason.[7][1]
Memphis Showboats
Swen played for the Memphis Showboats during the 2024 UFL season.[2] He recorded 75 rushing yards on 26 carries, added 69 receiving yards, and contributed 892 kick return yards.[2] In addition to his role in the Showboats’ backfield, Swen served as a primary kick returner during the 2024 UFL season. He led the team in kickoff return yards, providing field position value and contributing regularly on special teams alongside his offensive duties.[2]
Playing style
Swen is listed at 5 ft 11 in and 204 lb and is characterised by a north–south running style that prioritises ball security and downhill movement. Throughout his collegiate and professional career, he has also been valued for his versatility on special teams, particularly as a kick returner.[2]
