Career[edit]

New Zealand Formula First[edit]

In 2020-2023, Toby took part in the New Zealand Formula First Championship, competing in a team run by his dad. Throughout the entire years, Toby saw a steady improvement, with last years season being his best season yet. He started the year strong competing in the Manfeild Winter Series with new team Sallee Racing winning 5 out of the 9 races with 2 out of the 3 poles and 5 fastest laps winning the Winter Series.[1] and Champion of Champions trophy being the first single seater to ever do so[2]. This bought great momentum into the Summer series and it proved true with a 4th, 2nd, and 5th coming out of round 1 Toby was 2nd in the championship[3]. A hard rest of the season and some bad luck saw Toby slowly go down the ranks one weekend at Pukekohe saw McCormack in 6th,7th, and 8th losing vital points in the championship. This saw Toby ultimately finish the championship in 5th place[4]

New Zealand Formula Ford Championship[edit]

In 2023, Toby took the jump up to the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship, so far this season Toby has been competing in the Manfeild Winter Series in the North Island Formula Ford Scholarship Car being run by Career Racing. Toby's results in the past season saw North Island Formula Ford give him the chance to compete in this year's New Zealand Formula Ford Championship. This Winter Series Toby has proven that he was ready to take the step up with his first pole position in just his 2nd race meeting in wet conditions Toby took pole by 8 tenths before finishing 3rd in all 3 races. The next round the moment hadn't stopped with another pole and 3 more 3rd places sitting him comfortably in 2nd place in the standings. This has proved that even with the step up in cars Toby is able to quickly get to the pace and make sure that he is quickly up the front before the summer series.
