The date is reckoned differently by different calendars. Some begin calendars reckon the date as increasing by one unit at midnight, while other calendars reckon the date as increasing by one unit at sunset.
The date can also vary by time zone. For example, places in two adjacent time zones, separated by one hour, reckon the time as 23:30 and 00:30 at the same moment, with the former time belonging to the date previous the latter time.
