Todd Frederic Ehrlich (born December 7, 1963) is an American sports producer, author, and President of T-LINE TV.[1][2][3] He is the author of the sports history book The 20 Greatest Moments in New York Sports History: Our Generation of Memories, From 1960 to Today, executive sports producer of PIX11, and has worked as a sports producer for ABC News, NBC Sports, and CBS Sports.
Life and education
Todd Ehrlich was born in Washington, D.C. to Jay A. Ehrlich and Carole D. Owens, the latter a descendant of William Penn and the Schuyler family.[4][5] His maternal grandfather, Dr. Jerome D. Schein, was an international authority on deafness, sensory rehabilitation, and psychology with chairs at Gallaudet University, the University of Alberta, as well as a professorship at New York University. He was also the director of the NYU Deafness Research and Training Center and served as president of the New York Society for the Deaf.[6] At a young age, Ehrlich moved to Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and he graduated from the Dwight-Englewood School in 1982. Ehrlich attended the University of Maryland, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Radio, Film and TV in 1986.
In 2014, he married Debra Ackerman. They have a son, Jagger, and reside in River Vale, New Jersey.[7] He is the brother-in-law of journalist Katherine Rosman.
Career
Ehrlich began his career as a producer at SportsChannel in 1989, where he spent two years, before spending five years as a sports producer at ABC News. In 1996, he founded T-LINE TV, a broadcast production company specializing in television, documentaries, commercials, and corporate videos. In the summer of 2000, Ehrlich traveled to Sydney, Australia, as a producer for NBC News's first online broadcast (webcast) of the Olympic Games. Beginning in September 2003, Ehrlich began an 18-year stint at WCBS-TV as an Executive Producer of sports, working on Tunnel to Towers, Komen Race for the Cure, Jets Ready for Take Off, and other special projects for the network.
In total, Ehrlich has covered two Olympics, the Super Bowl, World Series, NHL Stanley Cup Finals, NBA Finals, and Triple Crown races.
Ehrlich, along with veteran journalist and New York Times bestselling author Gary Myers, is the author of The 20 Greatest Moments in New York Sports History: Our Generation of Memories, From 1960 to Today, an Amazon best-seller.[8] The book, divided into four sections, chronicles a different category or era of New York sports history. The book covers a wide range of sports, including baseball, basketball, football, hockey, golf, tennis, and boxing.
Ehrlich is a five-time Emmy Award winner, 22-time nominee, and eight-time winner of New York State Broadcast Association awards.[9][10][11] He has been the recipient of over 100 international awards for his broadcast and corporate communication work.
