Todd Grimes (born April 14, 1974) is an American director, producer, and actor. He is best known for creating the Netflix television series The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, which is based off of Dav Pilkey's comic books of the same name.[1]

Early life and career[edit]

Grimes was born in Greenwich, Connecticut.[2]

He worked on Back at the Barnyard as a director for various episodes. He also worked on the 2017 film Lego DC Super Hero Girls: Brain Drain, in which he served as the film's director. Grimes had also worked on Foodfight!, a 2012 film directed by Lawrence Kasanoff. He also directed Star Wars Detours, an unaired television series based on the Star Wars franchise.[3] He also worked on the visual effects for Barnyard, which was released one year before Back at the Barnyard.

In 2018, Grimes created the Netflix series The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants starring Nat Faxon as the title character, Captain Underpants and Jay Gragnani and Ramone Hamilton as George Beard and Harold Hutchins.[4]

Personal life[edit]

Grimes has been married to Kelly Grimes since 2000. Though they have no children.

YouTube Channel[edit]

Grimes has a YouTube channel named after him, in which he joined on February 21, 2013. His YouTube channel includes various Behind-the-scenes videos that include production of The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, including it's new season The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants: In Space, which is known as Season 4 of the series but it was released as an separate show on Netflix.
