Todd Hiscock, born in Sydney, Australia in 1972, is the CEO of Essential Coffee[1].
Career
Todd is a regular keynote speaker for Bond University[2] and the CPA Australia[2] and held Non- Executive Director roles for the following Boards:
Education
Todd attended Bond University and obtained an LLB, Law (Bachelor of Laws) in 1993 and a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Accounting Business Information Systems, Psychology in 1996 plus LLM, Law (Master of Laws) in 2001.[1][6]
Hobbies and charitable associations
Once a competitive triathlete, Todd suffered a number of significant injuries in two separate cycling accidents[7] training with the Eastern Suburbs Cycling Club, the later on his way home from one of Frank Conceicao's[8] training rides, in early 2007 where he was hit by a car that turned across his path. Now recovered, he remains active in and proudly supports a number of organisations, including Surf Life Saving Australia, Tweed Heads Seagulls[9], BMD Northcliffee Surf Club, Miami Surf Club, Bond University[6] and Somerset College[10].

Todd has been active in promoting the Coolangatta area in his role as co-owner of the Flying Elephant Cafe[11]. During the border closures between Queensland and NSW in 2021, he was interviewed for the Care for Cooly campaign by the Goldcoast Bulletin[12] [13] , Triplem Goldcoast radio[14] and Channel 7 Goldcoast news[15]. He has also been interviewed by Sea FM in a prank interview pretending to impersonate actor Chris Hemsworth[16]. Amid the challenges faced by café market in late 2024, Business News Australia wrote a feature on Essential Coffee where Todd shared how his business has managed to buck the trend and persevere. Later in January 2025, Todd was featured in the Gold Coast Bulletin (Jan 3, Jan 8) and the Courier Mail (Jan 3, Jan 8), where he made informed statements on the crisis. Todd also appeared as a guest on The Today Show discussing the same matters.
Later in June 2025, Todd was recognised and interviewed regarding the same coffee pricing crisis on ABC news[17].
