Tomáš Karel, Ph.D., (born March 8th, 1989) is a Czech kickboxer, lecturer of Bayesian statistics, co-owner of the security agency and a stuntman.
Biography[edit]
Tomáš Karel has started practising martial arts when he was five years old.[1] [2]. After a few years of training Wu-Shu (Shaolin kung-fu) moved to kickboxing (point-fighting, light contact, full contact)[3][4]. Tomas has been a member of Czech kickboxing national team since 2008[5]. During his sports career, he has become a multiple World champion in kickboxing (WKA, ISKA, IAKSA, WTKA, IBF), karate (WTKA, WKA), and kung-fu (WTKA) [6] [7] [8]. After finishing high school in Pelhřimov he continued his studies at the University of Economics in Prague. His research is focused on Bayesian Macroeconometric modelling and in 2018 he defended his PhD thesis focused on Modeling Macroeconomic aggregates using Bayesian Vector Autoregression models [9]. Karel teaches courses in Statistics an Probability and Bayesian statistics at the University of Economics in Prague [10]. Since 2015 he has been lecturing courses of Statistics at Czech Technical University[11][12]. Karel founded 2SAFE4U s.r.o. security agency[13][14] in 2011 and since 2016 has been working as a stuntman in FILMKA [15]
