Tom Moore AKA “Tomahawk” (born November 22, 1957) is a retired high school science teacher and college professor, author, and one-time television personality. He is perhaps best known for the television production “Dude You’re Screwed” on Discovery Channel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dude,_You%27re_Screwed. Tom has been a survival and weapons consultant for cast members on various wilderness-based reality TV shows such as Wild West Arizona, Alone, Doomsday Preppers, No Man's Land, and Mountain Men. He continues to consult with and support numerous cast members in the survival TV community.

Tomahawk is a veteran of the U.S. Army combat arms and Quartermaster career fields. He has slightly over 16 years of honorable service. Tom served as a private military contractor (PMC) for 10 years in the Middle East, Afghanistan, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and Darfur, Africa. During his time as a PMC, Tom trained civilian security forces, worked as a PSD team member, force protection officer, and weapons mechanic (Armorer). He holds a Master's degree in education with endorsements and certifications to teach in numerous foreign countries. He is conversant in several languages: Spanish, German, Thai, Arabic, and Chinese.

Military service:

Tom joined the US Army in 1976. He served on active duty for a total of 3 years; he also served in the Reserves and National Guard for 13 additional years.

Military Occupational Skills (MOS): 11B1P – Airborne Infantry serving with the 2/505th Scout platoon, 82nd Airborne Division 1976-78 and the 11th Aviation group Pathfinder platoon 1978-79.

Tom also served with the Army Reserve as a parachute rigger (43E MOS) and the Illinois, New Mexico, and Arizona Army National Guard in various military occupational skills such as 19D Cavalry scout, and 76Y armorer.

Personal life:

Tom has led a colorful and interesting life. He worked as a bicycle messenger in Chicago, he has been a big game hunting guide and mule packer in New Mexico and Montana. Tom has worked as a Grand Canyon river guide and mule guide. In addition, he spent several years as a teacher and youth mentor in wilderness-based juvenile corrections programs. He is married and has 4 children. He resides in Thailand and Cambodia where he established an educational relief organization to help educate underprivileged children in Southeast Asia. His hobbies include world travel, ultrarunning, long-distance bicycling, and wilderness survival.
