Tomasz Borowiec (born 12 April 1979) is a former Polish footballer who played as a goalkeeper.

Career[edit]

Borowiec started his career with Parasol Wrocław, a sports club that focuses on youth development and has a cooperation with Śląsk Wrocław. He progressed to the Parasol first team in 1997, and had a loan move to WKS Wieluń in 1998. After returning to Parasol he progressed and joined the Śląsk Wrocław team for the 1999–2000 season. He failed to make a first team appearance for Śląsk[1] in his first few months with the club and went on loan to Świt Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. While with Świt he made 2 appearances in the II liga,[2] Poland's second division, before being recalled by Śląsk during the winter break and making a permanent move back to Parasol Wrocław. After six months with Parasol Borowiec joined Lechia-Polonia Gdańsk. He made his Lechia-Polonia debut on 9 August 2000 against Polonia Lidzbark Warmiński in the Polish Cup.[3] Borowiec had to wait nine months until he had the chance to play for Lechia-Polonia in the league, making his only league appearance for the club on 5 May 2001 against KS Myszków in the II liga, in what would be his final match before retiring from playing at the end of the season.[4]
