Tommy Rivers Puzey (born August 22, 1984) [1] also known as 'Tommy Rivs'[2] is an American long-distance runner. He has competed in numerous marathons and ultramarathons. He grew up in Hermiston, Oregon.
Marathon career[edit]
He placed 16th in the 2017 Boston Marathon time 2 hours, 18 minutes. He won the Phoenix Marathon [2]
Health issues[edit]
Puzey was diagnosed with an aggressive and rate form of lymphoma in July 2020 and had to stay in the ICU for 2 1/2 months. Puzey lost 75 pounds, was in a coma, and had to have a bone marrow transplant. He did not come home until November 2020.[3]
