Tonesa Lynett Welch, is a former member of the Black Mafia Family (BMF), executive producer of a television series Notorious Queens, a motivational speaker, and founder of the Sylent Heart organization.[1] Welch served as a founding member and key advisor to the drug trafficking and money laundering organization since the early 2000s.

Early life and education[edit]

Welch was born and raised in Detroit, MI, by her mother and step-father. She graduated from Cooley High School, then studied Business Administration at Wayne County Community College in Detroit for 2 years.

Criminal history[edit]

In 2005, Welch was indicted for drug trafficking and money laundering connected to the BMF organization.[2] Welch served 57 months.[3] for the charges in two federal prisons--both in California. Welch returned home to Los Angeles, California in December of 2012. She was on probation for 3 years and completed her probation in early 2016.[citation needed]

Professional Career[edit]

Since returning home from prison, Welch is a advocate for children with incarcerated parents through her organization Sylent Heart. Welch is a member of the American Association of Women from Domestic Violence, where she volunteers her time uplifting and supporting women of domestic abuse. Welch is the executive producer for the television series Notorious Queens on WEtv and a producer to BET+ series American Gangster: Trap Queens ,for the episode: FirstladyofBMF..[4] She has been featured on BET+ series: How I blew 500 million dollars. Welch is also a brand influencer and accounts manager for Concreates, a public relations firm for formerly incarcerated individuals, and she is an activist for prison reform.[citation needed]

Personal life[edit]

In 1992, Welch married her oldest sons father, but the two divorced 8 years later.[5] Welch is the longtime girlfriend to BMF co-founder Terry "Southwest T" Flenory, the younger brother to Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory. The two currently reside in California.
