Toni Garcia Arias
Toni García Arias (Laraxe, Cabanas, A Coruña, (July 17, 1969) is a teacher [1], writer, international speaker and journalist. He is widely recognized for his contributions to education, particularly in the areas of emotional intelligence, educational leadership, and School bullying. He has received multiple national and international awards, including the Best Teacher of Spain Award in 2018 and the Global Teacher Award in 2021.[2] In 2023, he was the only Spanish educator among the top 50 finalists for the Global Teacher Prize,[3] often referred to as the "Nobel Prize of Education.".
Career in Education
Toni García Arias is teacher at Joaquín Carrión School in San Javier, Murcia. He is also a professor at the Valencian International University. Over the years, he has directed various educational innovation projects, some of which have received international recognition. His expertise lies in curriculum design, with a particular focus on emotional intelligence, school leadership, and bullying prevention. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Fundación Iberoamericana de Educación.[4] García has published more than twenty articles in specialized educational journals and has authored several books on education, including:

He frequently appears as an expert commentator on television programs such as La Aventura del Saber (La 2, Televisión Española ), Espejo Público (Antena 3), and Horizonte (TV series) (Tele 5).
Journalism and Literary Work
As a journalist, García is a regular columnist for La Opinión de Murcia [5], Periodista Digital, and the New York-based Viceversa Magazine. Between 2005 and 2012, he worked as an education editor for the Press Association of the Region of Murcia. Additionally, he is a frequent commentator on Intereconomía TV "Hablemos de Educación".
In literature, he began his career as a poet with the book "Todos los puertos" (2002), forming part of the emerging Galician and Murcian poetry scene. He later published "Diccionario de derrotas" (2003) and "Ángeles caídos" (2006). His novel "Mentiras para no estar solo" was published in 2017. His poems and short stories have been featured in literary magazines such as Baquiana (Miami) and Dorna (Santiago de Compostela), and some have been translated into English, French, Italian, and Portuguese. His works have also been included in university entrance exams in Spain and Latin America.
