Tormenta (Portuguese for Storm) is a Brazilian campaign setting for role-playing games that is played with D20 System or 3D&T System. It was created in 1999 by Marcelo Cassaro, Rogério Saladino, and J. M. Trevisan, first appearing in the issue #50 of the magazine Dragão Brasil, [1] and is published by Jambô since 2005. It is one of the most popular RPG games in Brazil.[citation needed]
The scenario is a fantasy world with heroes and adventurers; its main continent, Arton, being threatened by a magic storm. Arton's coast is bad for sailing and therefore the seas are not explored. Besides the campaign setting, Tormenta has spun-off comics series (among them Holy Avenger), novels and a video game.[2]
In 2019, a new version of the setting, named "Tormenta 20" was launched on the Brazilian crowdfunding platform Catarse.[3] It gathered R$ 1.9 million reais, becoming the most successful crowdfunding campaign on the website. [4]
