The Toronto Flyers are a Junior ice hockey team based in Thornhill, Ontario, playing in the South Division of the Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League.

History

Streetsville Flyers

The Streetsville Flyers were a Junior ice hockey team based in Streetsville, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 2021, the team laboured to a 20-60 record over two seasons before being sold in the summer of 2023.

On July 27, 2023, the franchise was acquired by Paul DiRisio and Melissa Hull and rebranded as the Toronto Flyers. The new ownership group quickly made several improvements to the club's new home arena in Thornhill, and secured former NHL player Sergei Varlamov as head coach.[1]

After a challenging first season, the fruits of ownership's labour were realized in 2024-25: The Flyers posted a franchise-high 19 wins, finishing above .500 for the first time and helping forward Michael Patruno secure a scholarship to the University of New Mexico — where he will play for the Lobos beginning in 2025-26.
