Toussaint Hocquart was a French naval officer.[1]
Biography
He was born on October 29, 1700, in Nantes, France.
He died on April 25, 1772, in Seine-Maritime, France.
Personal life
He came from a noble family and was the fifth son of Jean Hyacinthe Hocquart de Seulles.[1]
He was the brother of Gilles Hocquart.
He married twice, once to Madeleine Honorée de Francine and once to Marie Anne Compoint du Boulhard.[2]
Career
He commanded several ships, including the Alcide.[1]
He served in the French Navy and participated in several battles:[1]
Awards and honours
He was appointed as a member of the Académie de Marine.[1]
He was made a member of the Order of Saint Louis.[2]
