Toussaint Hocquart was a French naval officer.[1]

Biography[edit]

He was born on 29 October 1700 in Nantes, France.

He died on 25 April 1772 in Seine-Maritime, France.

Personal life[edit]

He came from a noble family and he was the fifth son of Jean Hyacinthe Hocquart de Seulles.[1]

He was the brother of Gilles Hocquart.

He got married two times, once to Madeleine Honorée de Francine and once to Marie Anne Compoint du Boulhard.[2]

Career[edit]

He commanded several ships, which included the Alcide.[1]

He served in the French Navy and participated in several battles:[1]

Awards and honours[edit]

He was appointed as a member of the Académie de Marine.[1]

He was made a member of the Order of Saint Louis.[2]
