Tower of Justice, is the tower in Topkapi Palace. It is right next to the Kubbealtı building.

History[edit]

It was first built during the reign of Fatih Sultan Mehmet. It was expanded by Süleyman I between 1527 and 1529. Mahmut II rebuilt the upper part of the tower in 1825.

Specifications[edit]

It is located between the harem and Kubbealtı where the diva is gathered. It is the tallest structure of the palace. When viewed from the Bosphorus, it is the most distinctive part of the palace, it has a monumental place in the silhouette. It was aimed to symbolize the eternal justice of the Ottoman sultan, to be seen by everyone from afar and to be sure of the justice of the sultan. [1]
