Tracee Stanley (born March 27, 1966) is a bestselling author, spiritual teacher, podcast host, entrepreneur and filmmaker.[1]

Raised in Huntington, NY Stanley is the author of one non-fiction book, a coloring book journal and self inquiry oracle deck.[1] Her latest book (March 9, 2021) Radiant Rest: Yoga Nidra for Deep Relaxation and Awakened Clarity topped the Best selling New Release list in the Yoga Category on Amazon for three months after the March 9th 2022 release of the book and remains in the top 100 Yoga book category, and has been translated into Spanish.[2][3] Tracee is a sought after spiritual teacher, speaker and expert having contributed to articles in Yoga Journal, Business Insider and Spirituality and Health.[4][5] She has been featured in The New York Times.[6]

Stanley was named as an inspirational leader by Good Morning America and ABC News in 2021 for the GMA INSPIRATION LIST: Who's Making Black History Right Now?[7]

Stanley was invited by Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King for their Girls Getaway in the Bahamas as the Meditation and Yoga teacher for the 2000 attendees on Oprah’s ship Nieuw Statendam with Holland America Cruises.[4][8]

As a film producer, Stanley was co-producer of the hit film the Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis (2000) distributed by Warner Bros and went on to produce over 35 other films including Heist, Spartan, The Experiment, Powder Blue, Animal Factory and The In-Laws in her career as a film executive and producer that spanned over 20 years.[9]

Tracee co-directed the short documentary film Yoga and Cancer for the American Sexual Health Association (2014)[9]

Tracee began her career in film in 1995 as an intern and later as an assistant production coordinator on the film starring Matthew Modine The Maker.[9] She worked for actress Tia Carrere as a development executive. Stanley served as President of Development[10] for several film production companies including Phoenician Films, Franchise Pictures and Inferno Entertainment before starting her own film production company Kundali Entertainment.[9] Tracee co-founded Divine Motion Yoga studio[11] in 2001 and began to teach yoga classes in 2002 after completing her first yoga teacher training.[12][1] For over a decade she produced feature films and taught yoga until she retired from the film business to focus on spiritual study and began teaching alongside teachers like Marianne Williamson.[4] Tracee is currently a faculty member at Esalen Institute, Omega Institute, Kripalu, and Menla.[13]

Early Life[edit]

Tracee was born on Long Island NY[14] and was raised in Huntington NY.[15] Tracee graduated from Walt Whitman High School at age 17. She attended Stony Brook University until she was scouted by a modeling agent and signed with Boss Models. She spent the next several years living in Europe, New York city, South Africa and Los Angeles.[16]
