TrackVia, Inc. is a privately held software company based in Denver, Colorado that provides a cloud-based low-code workflow platform[2]. The company was founded in 2006 and has raised $21.2 million in funding since 2007[3][4]. TrackVia's platform enables users to create custom applications without writing code. The applications can be used to automate processes such as expense reporting, time tracking, project management, and asset management. Gartner has recognized the company as a "Cool Vendor" in application platforms[5][6].

TrackVia is used by Fortune 500 organizations including AT&T, Dow Chemical Company, Zipcar, Stearns Lending, GE Healthcare, and Honeywell[7][8].

History[edit]

TrackVia was founded by Chris Basham and Matt McAdams as a direct competitor to DabbleDB, Quickbase, and WebOffice. Before founding TrackVia, McAdams received a Ph.D. in physics from California Institute of Technology and was involved in the creation of other database-centric startups such as Senware[9]. McAdams served as the CEO of TrackVia until 2011.

In April 2021, TrackVia launched a formal partner program for business process consultants and software development firms to sell and implement the TrackVia platform[10]. By December 2021, TrackVia partners were responsible for 45% of new revenue for the company[11].

Product[edit]

TrackVia allows users to create "Tables", "Views", "Forms", "Dashboards", "Filters", "Roles", and "Flows" which altogether constitute a business app[2]. Users are able to select several data types, including text, numbers, percentages, and currencies to store data.

TrackVia is hosted on Amazon Web Services with support for multi-tenant and single-tenant configurations. The company is SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 compliant, with additional accreditations for HIPAA, NIST, ISO 9001, CSA, and Privacy Shield[12].

The platform exposes a limited scripting engine based on Apache Groovy and AWS Lambda microservices for advanced logic and integrations. Several third-party integrations services, including Zapier and Workato, include connections to TrackVia[2]. TrackVia offers access to a REST API for an additional fee[13].

Citizen Development Initiatives[edit]

TrackVia has been involved in citizen development initiatives since its inception[14]. In 2021, TrackVia joined the Project Management Institute Citizen Developer Partner Program with a Gold Tier status[15]
