Trans-Air Service was a cargo airline housed in Kano, Nigeria. Trans-Air operated charter cargo flights for various operators. It shut down operations in 1997.
History
Trans-Air Service was founded in 1992 in Nigeria as a charter cargo airline to transport technical goods from Europe to Kano. Over the years the company's services became outperformed and by 1997 it went out of business.

Trans-Air Services' specific destinations aren't known, but its hub, Kano, and various European major airports were used.
Fleet
Trans-Air Service operated antique aircraft. They operated the Boeing 707, Boeing 747 and Douglas DC-8. Their DC-8 was leased from Middle East Airlines. Trans-Air Service usually had other airlines operate their aircraft for them.[1]

Accidents and incidents
- 31 March 1992, Trans-Air Service Flight 671 from Luxembourg Airport to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, operated by Kabo Air encountered severe turbulence over the French Alps, and the plane's two right engines tore off. Despite extensive damage the pilots landed the plane at Istres-Le Tubé Air Base. However upon deploying the leading-edge slats sparks set a ruptured fuel line on fire, and after landing, the fire destroyed the airplane. Metal fatigue in the No. 3 engine pylon and faulty maintenance procedures were to blame for the accident.[2]
