TransLoc Inc. is a technology company that offers Software as a service for bus tracking, demand-responsive transit booking, and public transportation operations. The company was founded in 2004.[1]

History

TransLoc was founded at N.C. State University in 2004.[1] In January 2016, TransLoc partnered with Uber to integrate its API into the TransLoc Rider app to allow users to plan trips and book Uber rides.[2] The integration was piloted in Memphis, Tennessee and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.[3][4]

In 2018, TransLoc was acquired by Ford Motor Company and integrated into its Smart Mobility division.[1] Modaxo purchased TransLoc from Ford in 2022.[5]

TransLoc offers a mobile app for tracking buses and booking on-demand transit trips with participating agencies.[6] The company also sells hardware and software to transit agencies for managing fixed-route bus operations, including computer-aided dispatch.[7]

TransLoc also offers services to compile and submit GTFS data for transit agencies.[8]
