Trap Youngan Records, LLC (simply called Trap Youngan or TYR) is an American privately owned record label founded in June 2016 by Kemaury Ta’maj Stringer and John Lamar Dean Jr.[1] TYR is known for its specialization in Hip-Hop/Rap music, and for being the first record label in a unincorporated community called Sandy Hook, Mississippi[2]. During the first year of operation, TYR was called “Kemaury Productions” until it was rebranded in 2017.[3]
History[edit]
In June 2016, Kemaury Productions (soon to be Trap Youngan Records) was created in Gretna, LA.[4] Kemaury Productions was a music production company based in Louisiana. A year later, Kemaury Productions was discontinued and rebranded.[5] The new brand was (and still is) called Trap Youngan Records. Instead of placing TYR in Louisiana, it was moved to Sandy Hook, Mississippi. In fact, TYR is the only label in Sandy Hook, MS[6][7]
