The Treaty of Salt and Water also called as the red seal of accent or Lalmohor had held between the Yakthung Limbu Kings as Shree Sun Raya, Shree Janga Raya, Shree Shamo Raya, Shree Aatahang Raya, Shree Rainasingh Raya, Shree Shuvawanta Raya and Jasmukhi Raya and the Gorkha King Prithvinarayan Shah in 1774 AD.[edit]

In the unification period, King Prithvinarayan Shah had tried to invade in the territory of Yakthung Ladze Limbuwan but failed to overran it after several attempts. The Yakthung Limbu warriors had fought with brave accounts and never led to be conquered by Gorkha and obliged to make conventional accord lastly in Vijayapur. However, the Thibong Yakthung Hangs were not in favor of the treaty and not complied with it. They were the king Buddhikarna Raya of Morong, the King Hillihang of Yangworok and the King Hangsuphuba Raya of Ilam who had denied to annexed the territory of Yakthung Ladze Limbuwan to the Gorkha.[1]It is noted that 1774 date coincides with the signing of the Limbu Gorkha treaty which ceded much of this territory east of Arun River to the Gorkha Kingdom.[2][edit]
