Trek Stemp
Trek Stemp is a former American professional baseball player for the Tampa Bay Rays. Prior to his time with Tampa Bay, he went to Kennewick Highschool (WA) and he spent three seasons at Washington State University (WSU) under Donnie Marbut and most recently Marty Lees.
Stemp set many records at Kennewick highschool such as career batting average, (.505), single season batting average (.571), career hits (150), single season hits (44), career runs (121), single season runs (36), career stolen bases (61), single season stolen bases (33), career triples (12), single season triples (7), career slugging pct (.846) and single season slugging pct (1.181).
Stemp's best season was 2011, hitting .571 with 14 doubles, 7 triples and 7 homeruns. 27 of his 44 hits were for extra bases.
In 351 career plate appearances, he struck out 9 times.
Stemp boasted a .989 fielding pct at Shorstop making 5 errors in 221 career chances, ESPN ranking him the 14th best highschool shortstop in the nation.
Stemp was 3 time CBBN player of the year, 2 time Washington State player of the year and US medium schools all American his senior year.
Stemp played at the Area code games where he hit .400 (5th highest) in the 6 game showcase, earning him a spot on the all area code team.
Stemp then played 3 years at Washington State University. Posting a career .313 average. His junior season he hit .355, earning himself the award of All-Pac-12 second base first team. He led the PAC in stolen bases in 2016 (14).
