Trent McMartin

Trent McMartin is a Canadian music journalist and entertainment writer. His pieces blend editorial and news, making for an entertaining yet informative read.

McMartin was born in 1978 in Edmonton, Alberta. His career in journalism happened accidentally when an editor from an online newspaper discovered his posts on the message boards at Rollingstone.com.[citation needed] He has been published in daily and weekly print publications including See Magazine,[1] UnRated Magazine,[2] Vue Weekly,[3] and the Calgary Herald. He has had a regular column on AntiMusic.com titled "The Lowdown".[4]

He was one of hundreds of music journalists, retailers, musicians and disc jockeys of all ages, from all parts of Canada, who submitted a list of 10 favourite Canadian albums to author Bob Mersereau for the book The Top 100 Canadian Albums.
