Trevor Long (born December 14, 1976) is an Australian technology writer, TV presenter and commentator. He is the regular "Tech Expert" on the Nine Network breakfast TV program The Today Show and is the editor and lead writer for Men's lifestyle publication EFTM.

Early years[edit]

Long was born in the regional NSW town of Griffith in 1976. He was named after his Father (Trevor William Long) who was killed in a car accident eight months before he was born.[1]. His family moved to Queensland until Trevor was aged eleven, moving then to Condell Park in Sydney before returning to Griffith where Trevor attended Griffith High School in years 7-10. For years 11 and 12, Trevor attended Woy Woy High School after moving to the Central Coast of NSW with his family.

Trevor Married Amanda Kerslake on New Years Eve 2004, they have three Children, Jackson, Victoria and Harrison.

Career[edit]

In the late 1990’s Trevor worked casually at Radio 2GB in Sydney, as a sports and general news program producer. He produced “The World of Football” with Andrew Moore, before setting up his own business and moving to Perth in late 1998.

Early in 2001, Trevor returned to Sydney, worked at Radio 2UE producing the nightly Sports program “Sports Today” with Andrew Moore and Peter Bosley, before taking on a role with the Talking League team with Ray Hadley.

In 2002 during the biggest change in talk-radio for Sydney in decades, Trevor moved to 2GB to work as an Associate Producer on the Ray Hadley Morning Show, and as the Executive Producer of the Continuous Call Team. He later became Assistant Program Director under John Brennan, and then Executive Producer of Sport and Special Events - responsible for the 2003 Rugby World Cup Coverage, 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games coverage[2]

In 2008 he moved to SBS Radio as Business Affairs Manager, then Acting Network Manager and finally Manager of Technology Strategy and Innovation across all of SBS.

Having worked as a Technology Commentator on Radio and Online since 2007, Trevor left SBS in 2016 to setup his own business, writing technology news and reviews at EFTM.com, and providing media commentary on Technology.

Media appearances[edit]

Trevor appears regularly on the Nine Network’s Today Show across Australia as their resident “Tech Expert”. He also appears on the network’s evening current affairs program “A Current Affair” as well as on 9 News.

Each week Trevor provides technology news and information on over 50 radio stations across Australia[3], produces and appears on two podcasts, EFTM and Two Blokes Talking Tech, and has been seen on Sky News.
