Trick Not Treat is a 2021 American NFT horror film. After being released in October 2021, it became one of the first films made specifically for the purpose of being an NFT[2]. Trick Not Treat was written and directed by Jed Brian, known for his 2017 Found Footage horror film Unlisted Owner. [2]. Jed Brian's company Lawford County Productions and Previn Wong's Terror Cards released "Trick Not Treat". The film was minted with the "Waxp" cryptocurrency and is available now on the AtomicHub website.[3]. Previn Wong of Terror Cards reached out to Brian about creating an NFT Horror Film for the Atomic Hub platform, and Brian agreed to write and direct. Brian already had a script written for "Trick Not Treat" and used that for the NFT Wax-backed film. [4]
Plot
A couple, Jack and Sally, go on a weekend trip to a remote cabin to get away from Halloween Trick or Treaters but are still visited by a trick-or-treater that night.[4]
Cast
- Gil T. Wilson as Jack
- Christine Jones as Sally
- Adam Gard as Trick or Treater
- Grayson Pinkston as Candy Corn Bag Spirit[5]
Production
Trick Not Treat was filmed in a cabin in Mesa Lake, Illinois, and was Director Jed Brian and Director of photography Derek Huey's fourth time working together, both having worked on "13 Slays Till X-Mas" and with Rocky Gray on the upcoming 10/31 part III and the director's cut version of Unlisted Owner. This was also Gil T. Wilson's fourth time working with Jed Brian on the same four films as Derek Huey. This was Adam Gard's second time working with director Jed Brian but his first time with a major role. [3]
Release
The Wax-minted film premiered on the Atomic Hub website in October 2021, being the first horror film on the NFT site. The Wax Blockchain was founded in 2017 and has a total supply of 3 billion.[2]
