Trilok Nath Pandey (born 01 July 1958), is former Intelligence Bureau officer and Hindi fiction writer famous for his novels "Prem Lahari" and "Chanakya ke Jasoos" both published by the Rajkamal Prakashan.

Biography[edit]

Trilok Nath Pandey, was born to poor parents in a small village of Varanasi district (Utter Pradesh). His basic schooling was in a neighboring village and High School in a still farther neighboring village. Further, He did his Graduation in Arts from Banaras Hindu University and Graduation in Laws from Allahabad University – all in First Division. While completing his Graduation in Laws he got a job in Intelligence Bureau through an All-India competition.  

Intelligence Service and Achievements[edit]

During his around three-decade-long (1984-2018) service Pandey remained deployed, in initial years of his service, in tough terrains at high altitudes. He was also remained posted in areas affected badly with terrorism . He accomplished many sensitive intelligence operations with excellent astuteness and exemplary discretion and was awarded twice (2007 and 2015) with the prestigious Sukriti Award of Intelligence Bureau. He was also decorated with Indian Police Medal in 2010 by the then Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram for Meritorious Service and President Police Medal in 2017 by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi for Distinguished Service.

Literature[edit]

Mr Pandey retired from intelligence service at the age of 60 years in June 2018. Soon after, he turned to writing and earned reputation of an excellent fiction writer in Hindi. He has so far got to his credit three novels published from the prestigious Rajkamal Prakashan. His novels are 1. Prem Lahari (year 2018), Chanakya ke jasoos (year 2020), and his latest novel Mahabrahman was released in the World Book Fair 2023 at New Delhi . Meanwhile, his two collections of stories, namely ‘Khufiagiri Yuge Yuge’ from Vani Prakashan and ‘Kashi-Katha’ from Pralek Prakashan, both in 2022.
