History

Founding and Early Years

Triton Valves Limited was incorporated in 1975 by M. V. Gokarn, a mechanical-electrical engineer from Karwar, Karnataka. His vision was to establish a world-class precision valve manufacturing facility in India. The company began manufacturing valves for the tyre and inner tube industry in 1978 with a technical collaboration with France's Pingeot Bardin SA.

A key early innovation was pioneering the short valve core in India. By 1984, the company became profitable, and within eight years, by 1992, it emerged as the market leader in tyre valves in India. The company secured ISO 9001 and TS 16949 certifications early on, setting quality benchmarks in the industry.
