Meteorological history

Map plotting the track and the intensity of the storm, according to the Saffir–Simpson scale

The system organized a closed circulation in the Northwestern Gulf of Mexico on July 19, becoming a tropical depression.[1] Upon formation, steering currents in the region of the system were weak, making the system's movement slow.[2]

Preparations

Upon designation as a tropical depression, tropical storm watches were issued for the Florida panhandle between the state's border with Alabama and the Ochlockonee River.[2][3] On July 20, the coast of Alabama was placed under tropical storm watch.[4]

Impact

Florida

The preceding low brought rains to the West Coast of Florida.[5]
