TruTrip
TruTrip is a travel management company for businesses and business travellers focusing on Southeast Asia. It is headquartered in Singapore with presence in Malaysia and Indonesia. It provides travel management, expense reconciliation, traveller safety and automated travel policy solutions. Travel bookings can be done through its mobile-friendly web-based application.
History
TruTrip was founded late 2019 by Hugh Batley, a former consultant at McKinsey & Co across Asia, America, Europe and the Middle East as well as co-founder of Lion & Lion, and Pinky Tham, a former Partner Manager at Facebook. Tham and Batley formed the travel management company after identifying an underserved market need [1].
Since Covid-19 pandemic drove global travel to a halt in March 2020 [2], TruTrip continued its product development by adding traveller safety features, travel restrictions and introduced flexible booking [3].
As part of TruTrip’s COVID-19 response, they launched Covid Entry Check in July 2020[4]. Covid Entry Check enables travellers to know travel restrictions, quarantine and entry requirements of countries before booking travel arrangements [4][5]. The team behind the tool monitors 34,000 travel routes, 200 websites and links to 15 data sources [5][6][7]
Partnerships
The company has a large focus on collaborating with the wider travel industry. TruTrip has partnered with Travelfusion, Sabre, Skyscanner and Agoda for flight and accommodation inventory. Other partnerships for its platform also include:

- FWD Insurance for regional insurance
- Riskline for travel risk information
- Xero for cloud accounting software
- Concur for travel claims and expense management
