The Truework platform enables lenders, background check companies and other verified third-parties to securely access employment and income information for the purpose of completing loan, mortgage, rental and other applications.[1]

History[edit]

Truework was co-founded by Ryan Sandler, Ethan Winchell and Victor Kabdebon in 2017. The company raised $2.9M in seed funding in the spring of 2018. The seed round was led by Keith Rabois of Khosla Ventures. Founder Collective, Menlo Ventures and Crunchfund also participated in the fundraising round.

According to the New York Times,[2] Truework is a direct competitor of Equifax’s verification service, The Work Number. Equifax suffered a 2017 data breach that impacted approximately 145.5 million consumers. [3] On October 23, 2017, the Internal Revenue Service was reported to have suspended a $7.2 million contract, as a result of the data breach.[4]
