Major General Trulan Arthur Eyre (born September 2, 1957) received his USAF regular commission in 1979 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He has served in numerous assignments in flying and operations, as well as command positions at the squadron, group, and wing levels. He also served as the United States Air Force F-16 European Demonstration pilot and the Deputy Director of the Air Coordination and Control Element, US Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq. Eyre joined the Colorado Air National Guard in 1988 as a traditional member, and a pilot for Delta Air Lines. He commanded the 140th Wing, Colorado Air National Guard, Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado 2007-2013. As Wing Commander, he was responsible for over 1500 personnel in support of F-16C+ (Air Combat Command) fighter and C-21 (Air Mobility Command) airlift aircraft missions, as well as 137th Space Warning Squadron (Air Force Space Command) and Civil Engineering (Pacific Air Forces) missions.[1]

Major General Eyre’s final assignment was as the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, United States Northern Command Region and 1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern), Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. In this capacity General Eyre also served as the North American Deputy Combined Forces Air Component Commander, encompassing the United States Air Force Title 10 Responsible Officer, comprising four direct reporting units, ten aligned Air National Guard units and more than 14 active air defense alert sites, including aircraft, air defense artillery and up to 15,000 Active Duty, National Guard, Air Force Reserve and civilian personnel. He is a command pilot with over 4000 hours in the F-16, A-7, T-38 and T-37 including more than 100 combat hours. Upon retirement he was recognized as the oldest mission ready pilot flying the F-16 in any branch of the United States Military.

Major General Eyre retired from military service in 2016 after 37 years, and from Delta Air Lines as an international A330 Captain in 2022 after 34 years. He is married to Deborah Simpson Eyre and has 3 children.
