Tulku Lobsang, born as Lobsang Thamcho Nyima (* 1. December 1975 in the province of Amdo in Eastern Tibet) is a Tibetan Buddhistic Master (Tulku). Lamas and Buddhistic devotees assume, he is reincarnated. His trait are the methods of Vajrayana.
Education and Reincarnation[edit]
At the age of six Lobsang visited the local Buddhist monastery school. From his eleventh year of life he was educated in the Nangshig Monastery, the major Bon monastery in Tibet. There he was recognized as the reincarnation of Lama Nyentse and enthroned as the eighths incarnation of Lama Nyentse [1]. Thereby he received the name affix Tulku.
Shortly after his enthronement Tulku Lobsang moved to different Tibetan monasteries in order to study Sutra, Tantra, Tibetan medicine, and the those practiced Tibetan astrology. As he was considered to be the reincarnation of a departed Gelug-Master (Lama Nyentse), he received in addition general instructions in all eight main lineages of the Tibetan Buddhism, but in particular of the Gelug tradition. Till this day he is practicing and teaching techniques out of all traditions (Rime). All in all, he had 35 main teachers to receive procedures, specific empowerments, and inductions [2].
Work[edit]
When he was seventeen-year-old he left Tibet in the year 1993 and became a student in the Buddhistic Gaden Shartse monastery in South India. Five years later he went to Dharamsala in order to impart the Tibetan cultural heritage to Tibetans as well as to western impressed humans. Since 2000 he perambulated different countries and gave tuitions and lectures in Tibetan Medicine, Tantrayana, Tummo and astrology. In March 2002 he founded a medical center in North India. Today, the domicile of his center Nangten Menlang International is located in Vienna, Austria, where he also established himself. Here, the Tibetan movement practice Lu Jong, an early form of healing Yoga, <ref=3 /ref> is being taught.
The German religious studies scientist Julia König writes about Tulku Lobsang, he is especially famous for his Tummo practice. In the 2017 documentary serial Story of God in the American TV channel National Geographic by Morgan Freeman, Tulku Lobsang publicly demonstrated what Tummo could effectuate <ref=4 /ref>, <ref=5 /ref>.
