TUNEGO is a digital platform that connects the music industry to artists.[1] Since its launch in 2013[2], they have introduced a number of applications and services such as the Exclusive Industry Portal, TUNEGO Artist App[3][4], and TUNEGO Listener App[5].[6]
History
TUNEGO was founded in 2013 in Henderson, Nevada by John Kohl, Ofek Hayon, and Stacy Haitsuka. [7]
Funding history
- In 2013 TUNEGO raised $370,000 in their Seed Investment Rounds.[7]
- In 2015 TUNEGO raised $1.7m in their Seed Investment Rounds.[7][8]
- In 2016 TUNEGO raised $500,000 and closed their Seed Investment Rounds.[7]
- In December 2017 TUNEGO raised $3.6m and closed their Series A Investment Rounds.[9][7]
- In May 2018 TUNEGO closed their Series B Financing totaling more than $7.7 million. [10][2] Private equity firm Falcon Capital led the financing round. The company has now raised $13.4 million since its inception in 2013.[2][7]
Innovations and technical history
- TUNEGO launched an independent record label, TUNEGO Music Group, in March 2017. [9][1][11] Three Guests were the first artists signed to TUNEGO Music Group.[11]
- TUNEGO launched their Exclusive Industry Portal in May 2018. The portal aggregates a wide variety of data points that can be customized to meet an influencer's needs, providing record labels, music supervisors, talent agents and playlist curators a way to discover talent and content.[10][2][1]
- TUNEGO launched the TUNEGO Listener App.[5]
- TUNEGO launched the TUNEGO Artist App. [4]
Partnerships and team history
- Mark R. Goldston, who is credited with running United Online (Juno, FTD Flowers, Interflora, Classmates, MyPoints, Stayfriends, etc.) joined TUNEGO as a Board Member in December 2016. [7][12]
- Marcus Spence, Senior Vice President of Mosley Music Group, who has worked with artists such as Timbaland, One Republic, Chris Cornell and Nelly Furtado, joined TUNEGO in March 2017 as the Vice President of independent record label TUNEGO Music Group.[9][13]
- Alison Ball, former VP of A&R at Warner Bros, joined TUNEGO in August 2017 as the President of independent record label TUNEGO Music Group.[9]
- Priority Records partnered with TUNEGO to provide distribution in April 2018.[14]
