Turkowice massacre (Polish: Zbrodnia w Turkowicach; Ukrainian: Злочинність у Турковіцах) was a massacre on Ukrainians in the village Turkowice committed by the members of the Home Army and Peasant Battalions (specifically the "Ryś" Battalion) on March, 1944. Majority of the village was destroyed and burnt down during and after the massacre by the Polish partisans.[1]

History

In the spring of 1944, Turkowice was one of the Ukrainian villages that the Polish partisans burned down during the Polish-Ukrainian ethnic conflict.[1]

Approximately around 80 Ukrainians were murdered and 150 houses were entirely destroyed by the members of the "Ryś" Battalion and Home Army.[1]
