TutorsMedia is an online platform in educational technology that connects students and tutors for on-demand online tutoring. Headquartered in Aloha, Oregon, United States, its services provide online tutoring, expert-answers and self-paced learning platform for students.

The company was founded in 2020 by Mogbolahan Ojeyinka as a tool to help students connect with teachers during the COVID-19.[1] pandemic. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, most universities and colleges around the world moved classes online in 2020[2].

As of December 2020, the company claims to have over 2800 registered users and over 300 tutors. Tutors on the platform offer lessons in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields, Languages, Psychology, History, Humanities, Social science and Test Preps.

History[edit]

TutorsMedia was initially an addon-service within StudentsPlatform - a mobile application offered by StudentsPlatform Inc. in Delaware, United Sates. It was later carved out as a stand-alone mobile application on Android phones in 2019.

On 26 June 2020, TutorsMedia announced its independence from StudentsPlatform Inc and became registered as an LLC in the state of Oregon, USA. In September 2021, TutorsMedia announced its mission to make e-learning affordable to underserved communities.[3]

Recognition[edit]

TutorsMedia was ranked by Startupill among the Top 35 Tutoring Startups To Watch Out For In 2021[4]. It was listed by Boove as one of the Top Education and EdTech Companies in Oregon[5]
