Tyler Kjetland is an American football offensive lineman for the Dakota State Trojans.[1]

Early life

Kjetland, from Emery, South Dakota attended Bridgewater-Emery High School and participated on the school's football and basketball teams. He was a 2-year starter for the Huskies' football team. During his final two seasons he tallied 108 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries. He earned a spot on the Big East All-Conference honorable mention team in 2020.[2] The Huskies won the SDHSAA 11B State Championship in 2019.[3]

He also competed for the school's basketball team. He spent three years on the varsity team, scoring 435 points, gathering 229 rebounds, 19 assists, 22 steals, and 4 blocks.[4]

College career

Northern State

On November 17, 2020, Kjetland announced his commitment to Northern State for football.[5] He redshirted during the 2021 season and appeared in 4 games during the 2022 season.[6]

Dakota State

On May 7, 2023, Kjetland announced that he was transferring to Dakota State University and would play for the Trojans football team.[7] Following the 2023 season, Kjetland was awarded a spot on the All-NSAA Second Team.[8] Prior to the 2024 season, Kjetland was announced as a captain of the Trojans football team.[9]

Personal life

He is the son of Bruce and Lisa Kjetland. His brother, Brandon, is also an offensive lineman for the Trojans.[10]
