Type 82 truck

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Originally developed and manufactured in China from the 1970s by the HANYANG SPECIAL PURPOSE VEHICLES COMPANY LIMITED or HSPV Company Ltd is a large defense and military operation as well as a civilian truck manufacturer that started in the late 1960s that has technical connections with Mitsubishi FUSO of Japan as its shareholder and partner for the production of all wheel driven vehicles and army vehicles mostly for distribution and export to the Asian markets.

The HANYANG Type 82 truck is a truck used by the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China. Since it is a small truck company with low market share its only available in and around China, its model range consists of mainly two models the HY-473 roadtractor or cargotruck both of them in 6WD form and the HY-962 a more modern looking 6X6 model available in for semi-trailer used as HET Heavy Equipment Transporter that can haul anything up to 75 tons. A third lesser known model is also available in 6X4 and 8X4 forms intended for Non military use is produced that resembles very much like the old 1980s FUSO V8 Diesel lorry model range.

The HANYANG HY-473 was developed as a prototype model that began in the late 1960s and further produced as a 6x6 tractor intended as an improved modern Chinese Armytruck HY-962 model which was launched by the Hanyang Special Auto Works (Hanyang Special Vehicle Works) which was itself based on the original Mitsubishi FUSO F-Series 6X6 Military Truck of the 1970s-1980s made by Mitsubishi FUSO of Tokyo in Japan. Early HANYANG models were mostly developed together with the help of giant Mitsubishi FUSO who provided HANYANG license production rights of some of its original designs for HANYANG of China, which explains why the HANYANG HY473 6X6 model is very much inspired by the lorries and models of that Japanese company.
