Typographic UI
Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". Typographic UI is a design concept based on the premise "Interface is the text", which can be written as UI = 100% TEXT. Typographic UI can be perceived as a development of user interfaces in the direction of minimalism, moving away from realism. Typographic UI is a refined UI stripped of everything but text[1].
Idea
[edit]
The main idea is that the text itself is a full-fledged self-sufficient visual system for creating a UI that does not require any additional forms - no pictures like in skeuomorphism or flat design, no tiles like in the Metro interface. The absence of unnecessary forms does not overload users with information, and also allows to make the most of the opportunities provided by high-quality typography - ease of perception, beauty, recognition, atmosphere.
Construction principles
[edit]
Since the interface is based on the text, the principles of Typographic UI are the rules of typography. Thus, all the experience and knowledge accumulated in the sphere of building high-quality typography extends to building high-quality UI. Developments in the field of kinetic typography are particularly interesting.
History
[edit]
The Typographic UI concept was developed by the team of the company "Automatic radio electronic systems" during the work on the IPTVPORTAL project. The user interface for IPTVPORTAL MIDDLEWARE was developed based to the rules of the Typographic UI concept and was called TYPOGRAPHY. It was firstly demonstrated at the CSTB-2018 exhibition in Moscow[2].
