Tyrel Dodson (born June 25, 1998) is an American football linebacker for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas A&M.

Early life[edit]

Dodson was a 3-star recruit from Centennial High School in Tennessee. He committed to Texas A&M on February 3, 2016.[1]

College career[edit]

Dodson was a member of the Texas A&M football team for 3 seasons. During his sophomore season, he had 105 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5 sacks and 3 interceptions. During his junior season, he had 61 tackles and 6 tackles for loss.[2] He decided to forgo his senior season to enter the 2019 NFL Draft.[3]

Professional career[edit]

After going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, Dodson signed with the Buffalo Bills. [4] Dodson was arrested on May 24, 2019 for disorderly conduct and domestic violence charges after a dispute with his girlfriend.[5] Despite his arrest, Dodson announced on instagram that he signed a contract with the Bills in June 2019.[6] During the 2019 preseason, he had 19 tackles.[7] He was put on the commissioner's exempt list on September 1, 2019 and was suspended for 6 games during the 2019 NFL season.[8] He was waived on November 4, 2019, but was signed to the Bills practice squad on November 6, 2019.[9]
