The UICR Professional Driver World Championship, often simply called the Drivers World Cup, is an international skill, talent and safe driving of a truck, bus/coach and van competition.
The UICR (Union Internationale Des Chauffeurs Routiers) organises the UICR Professional Driver World Championship every two years.

Competition Components[edit]
- Theory written exam: The theory written exam consists of a mixture of 40 true/false and multiple choice questions and is used to measure the driver’s knowledge of job responsibilities and safety practices and variety of industry related topics.
- Scoring: Each question answered correctly is worth five points. The maximum score possible is 300 points.
- Time to complete challenge: One hour.
- Competitors that have reading or writing difficulties may obtain assistance to complete the written examination.
- Pre-trip Vehicle Inspection: To “uncover” planted equipment defects and safety hazards and to determine the road worthiness of the vehicle for operation. The pre-trip inspection tests the driver’s ability to conduct an efficient and thorough safety check of the vehicle. The driver is scored on the number of “planted” safety-related defects he/she finds within a specified period of time (five minutes for straight truck and seven minutes for combination vehicles).
- Scoring: 600 points are achievable for identifying the defects. All competitors will inspect the same vehicle or combination.
- As the pre-trip inspection is a safety check drivers will not to be tested for checking fluid, fuel or oil levels. Drivers will not be required to tilt cabs, bonnets, open inspection flaps or check brake lights when conducting the pre-trip inspection.
- Defects missed are scored at a percentage deduction from the total attainable score.
- Time to complete challenge: Rigid vehicle contestants are given 5 minutes to complete the pre-trip inspection. Combination vehicle contestants are given 8 minutes to complete the pre-trip inspection.80 points will be deducted if the driver takes longer than the specified amount of time to complete the pre-trip inspection.
- Driving course challenges: A series of physical driving tasks simulating everyday operating conditions to determine driving skill. Aside from the driving related challenges drivers are also marked on cab entry and exit, vehicle familiarisation and application of professional driving skills.
- Time to complete challenges: • Rigid (6 minutes, plus 4 minutes overtime) • Combination (10 minutes, plus 4 minutes overtime) Timing and scoring begins immediately after the driver is signalled to start.
- Scoring • Rigid vehicle 6 distinct challenges, 50 points each, 300 Points Total • Combination vehicles 8 distinct challenges, 75 points each, 600 Points Total Time related faults apply for each minute that the course time limit is exceeded. If the course limit is exceeded by more than 4 minutes the driver will be requested to stop their test and will be removed from the course.
- ECO Driving Challenges: First, drivers will complete a questionnaire that tests their knowledge of eco-driving principles and how to reduce fuel consumption. Next, they will participate in a 40-minute open-road driving test. The winner will be the driver who consumed the least without sacrificing commercial speed.
