USA Luge is the national governing body for the sport of luge in the United States. The organization operates four luge clubs across the United States.[1] USA Luge is recognized as the official governing body for luge in the United States by the International Olympic Committee.
History
Although the United States had competed in luge since it was introduced at the 1964 Winter Olympics, USA Luge was not founded until1979 after the ratification of the Amateur Sports Act of 1978.[2] It is headquartered in Lake Placid. It is devoted to the promotion of luge in the United States.
