US Storage Centers owns, operates, and manages over 130 facilities nationwide. Founded in 1998 by Barry Hoeven, the company has grown from one facility in Cerritos, CA to a national company.[1]

Locations[edit]

US Storage Centers is located in 16 states, with its newest facilities in Ohio and Iowa. The company has a large footprint in the Arizona (specifically Phoenix), Florida, Texas(specifically Houston), and Tennessee market.[2]

Charities[edit]

Kure It Cancer Research[edit]

Barry Hoeven was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer 20 years ago. After discovering that most rare cancers lack viable treatments, he founded Kure It Cancer Research to support underfunded cancer research. The organization, started in 2008, has since raised and donated over $6 million to top cancer research institutes. In hopes of increasing funds and enabling community support, US Storage Centers started Round Up For Research. This program offers tenants the ability to contribute 50 cents, added to their monthly rent, to the organization, and then US Storage Centers matches that 100%. In 2017, tenant contributions totaled over $125,000![3]

Charity[edit]

US Storage Centers also co-founded Charity Storage to give tenants, as well as local businesses and residents, the opportunity to donate gently used items for auction. Proceeds from Charity Storage are split between Kure It Cancer Research (20%), the Self Storage Association's College Fund (10%), and a local charity (60%).[4]

Corporate Giving[edit]

In addition to in-house charities, US Storage Centers also supports several national and local charities and organizations, either through monetary donations or in-kind contributions.
