UXPin - technology company producing the UXPin software, which is used to create interactive prototypes of applications and websites.[1] UXPin application is dedicated to people dealing with designing user interfaces, user experience and graphic designers, as well as supporting software development teams, who participate in the process of creating the product.[2]
One of the main advantages of the UXPin application is code-based design. This means that instead of drawing static representations of projects in a raster or vector design tool, designers can render their design intentions directly in the code - without requiring programming knowledge.[3] When a user draws a project, the tool creates the appropriate html / css / javascript code and opens the browser, and the application engine shows the results visually.
The application is available on MacOS, Windows.
History[edit]
UXPin was founded by Marcin Treder, Kamil Zięba and Marcin Kowalski in November 2008 in Gdańsk. The opening of the second office in Mountain View, California took place in 2013. The first version of UXPin assumed cooperation in real-time: many people could edit one model of the project at once - this function was called a multi-person designing. With the development of project teams and the extension of remote work, real-time cooperation has become one of the company's overarching goals.
The first UXPin product was a tool for designing paper prototypes. This allowed designers to transform paper prototypes into HTML-based prototypes. This method was abandoned in 2013.
In 2015, interest in solutions that help organizations scale design processes without the divergence of the entire system has increased. At that time, UXPin design systems were introduced - (June 2017). UXPin is also publishing ebooks that are available for free and cover a wide array of topics connected to design.[4]
In February 2019, UXPin launched a beta version for Merge functionality: a technology that combines design and engineering. Merge allows you to import and synchronize ready-made React.js components from Git repositories to the UXPin editor. All data and interactions are transferred to the UXPin editor. This allows you to design from already coded components.
